Empathy Quotient Inventory

Emotional intelligence is our ability to monitor feelings and emotions, to discriminate among them, and to use this information to guide thinking and actions.

The current EQ (empathy quotient) questionnaire was developed by Baron-Cohen and colleagues as a clinical tool to diagnose autism, a population that is known to struggle with empathy. However, the questionnaire shows that the general public also differs in their EQ scores, and these scores are predictive of a range of outcomes, such as career and family success.
